Kohima, July 14: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has booked Chitta Ranjan Deb, Senior Professor and Dean of the School of Sciences at Nagaland University, for allegedly demanding a bribe of ₹2 lakh from a vendor involved in the supply of equipment and UPS batteries.
According to officials, Deb, who is associated with the Department of Botany, was also accused of harassing other suppliers. The CBI alleges that he engaged in corrupt and unlawful practices with the intention of causing financial loss to the institution while securing personal monetary gain.
