Nagaland University and the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) recently co-hosted the ‘Ecologies of Care’ workshop in Kohima focusing on Indigenous philosophies, environmental change, and collaborative dialogue. Prof. Dolly Kikon from UCSC emphasized love for both the land and community, pointing to the Chathe river’s ecological decline.
NU’s Prof. Tiatoshi Jamir highlighted the lack of Indigenous archaeologists and emphasized the significance of the ancient oral tradition of passing folklores.
The event featured the launch of the Naga Lithic Worlds exhibition, featuring Naga stone artifacts currently held at Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford University.
