Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang met Major General M.S. Rathore, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 17th Mountain Division, at his official residence on Wednesday morning.
During the meeting, Major General Rathore briefed the Chief Minister on the recent achievements and operational preparedness of the Indian Armed Forces in the region. Discussions focused on national security, infrastructure development, civil-military cooperation, and the coordination between the Army and the state government.
The meeting also highlighted the enduring bond between the armed forces and the people of Sikkim, including the significance of Nathula Vijay Diwas, which commemorates the bravery and sacrifices of soldiers.
Chief Minister Tamang expressed his appreciation to Major General Rathore and his team for their dedicated service to the nation.
