Agartala, October 24, 2025: Without naming the alliance partner Tipra Motha Party, Tripura Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha on Friday squarely held the partner party responsible for the unrest and cautioned that such acts of violence would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Chief Minister Dr Saha on Friday morning visited GB Hospital to inspect those injured in the violent incident at Santirbazar in Dhalai district and strongly condemned the attacks, saying the acts “are a disgrace in the name of the movement.”

Addressing reporters at the hospital, the Chief Minister described the assaults — reportedly carried out with sticks, rods and slingshots as “condemnable” and criticized those who used the cover of a movement to carry out violence and thefts, including the alleged snatching of gold chains. He directly blamed the partner party for the unrest and warned that such behaviour would not be tolerated.

“Such incidents are a disgrace in the name of the movement… What kind of movement is this?” Dr. Saha said. He promised swift and strict action: “No one will be spared. Everyone involved will be brought to justice and punished.”

The Chief Minister also issued a pointed warning to repeated perpetrators, saying authorities would act decisively and that some suspected wrongdoers “after a few days, they will not be found.” He reiterated that there would be no support for violence from any caste or tribe and pledged a firm response to the deadly attacks.

Police and district officials have been asked to investigate the incidents and ensure those responsible are identified and prosecuted, the Chief Minister said. Further details on arrests or inquiry findings were not disclosed at the hospital briefing.
