Mizoram Home Minister K. Sapdanga on Monday said the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) government has achieved significant progress in its flagship schemes during its first year in office.
Speaking at the ZPM Party Office in Aizawl, Sapdanga said the government began with a 100-day preparatory plan for ministers, which helped establish a clear framework for programme implementation.
He noted that around three lakh quintals of turmeric were procured from 672 locations, benefiting over 20,000 farming households. The government also launched the Hand Holding Scheme to support young entrepreneurs.
On the healthcare front, the Mizoram Universal Health Care Scheme (MUHCS) is being actively implemented to assist economically weaker families. A Review Committee has been formed to enhance coordination between government officials and private hospitals to improve transparency.
Sapdanga added that the old age pension scheme coverage has been extended to include elderly individuals, widows, and those without family support.
