When this little girl came off the stage after performing Raas in a town of Jorhat district in Assam, she never dreamed that years later she would be performing alongside Katrina Kaif. We are talking about Queen Das who was a part of the Bihu group that performed with Katrina in the initial moments of the song Galti se Mistake in the movie Jagga Jasoos. The song is becoming extremely popular in the Northeast for the Assamese Bihu touch that Pritam has given to it. Directed by Anurag Basu and starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in the lead, Jagga Jasoos will hit the theatres this Friday.

Sharing her experience with Northeast Today, Queen says, “It was an awesome experience. It was really fun to work with Anurag Basu. Katrina was really sweet. She was eager to learn Bihu. She even came up to me and asked to help her with some Bihu steps.”

By profession, Queen Das is a jewellery designer and trades her creations online. She was a student of Pearl Academy, Jaipur, and completed her graduation in jewellery designing from the Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery (IIGJ).

This budding talent from Assam has also worked with Optimystix Entertainment as casting assistant for the show The Rising Star of Colors channel.

“It was a great experience to filter singers for the judges and send them for audition,” she recollects.

She was a part of many theatre groups and has also worked for an advertisement for Naaptol Channel. Currently residing in the mayanagri Mumbai, Queen adds, “I want to promote my culture in Mumbai in every possible way.” This multitalented girl has recently auditioned for Lakme Fashion Week, 2017, in the ‘Plus Size Model’ category.

Excited and optimistic about her future, Queen further says that she will never stop until she gets recognised as an artist.

“No matter how much time it takes, I will keep trying to gain recognition as an artist,” winds up Queen, who will be seen next in an upcoming serial that will be aired on DD Anuprabha.
