Director General of Police S B K Singh in his office on Friday, after a meeting with a team of Arunachal Chambers of Commerce & Industries (ACCI) led by its president Tarh Nachung and secretary general Toko Tatung, assured to take following steps in the larger interest of the traders.

The police beat idea was initiated by ACCI and actively functioned during  2009 & 2010, the duo said and sought to make police beats functional in strategic locations of Capital Complex including, Doimukh, Yupia, Gumto and Banderdewa. The president urged for strict patrolling round the clock in capital complex for the safety & security of traders, commuters and denizens.

Extortion has turned into a menace for traders, innocent public besides causing law & order problems, Tatung said and called for containing it.

Accepting the suggestions in presence of DIG west and Capital Complex SP, DGP assured following points:

1)      To set up 4 to 6 police beats with adequate police personal in various sensitive areas of Capital Complex will function from 31st July for safety and security of traders and civilians. The ACCI will build structures for the beats and self funded.

2)       Set up three more nakas in addition to existing ones.

3)       The CCTV service to be improved in some sensitive areas including, Doimukh, Kola Camp and Gumto check gates.

4)       Special patrolling team, called emergency response supportive system ERSS) will start soon

5)       The service of 24×7 mobiles 6009095588/ 8414980930 will be available with duty police officers for anyone to lodge complaint directly through call, SMS or Watsapp besides video/picture

6)      ACCI, the apex traders’ body of the state, has been suggested to list out authorized traders of Capital Complex annually and submit to DGP office for ensuring security.

7)      ACC&I will hold authentic document verification mela in collaboration state police for traders & their employees, land lords and tenants on July 7h and 21 at Nikum Niya ground, Nirjuli, Naharlagun Kendriya Vidyalaya and Itanagar IG Park as suggested by DGP.

ACCI lauded quick responses of the DGP for steps to tackle law & order problems and accepting other suggestions.
