‘Substantive Talks’ begins, Boundary issue in the next round of talks

The Tripartite Talks on Kuki Political issues held today at the national capital between the Govt. of India, Govt. of Manipur and the two conglomerate organizations of the Kuki UGs, the KNO and UPF culminate successful.
The talks this morning at Ashoka Hotel begins at around 11:00 am which was chaired for the second time by Interlocutor AB. Mathur while Intelligence Bureau Director, AK. Mishra also took part in the talks.
Dr. Ibomcha Singh, Manipur Government’s Interlocutor represented the state Government.
Notably, both the chief of KNO, PS.Haokip and UPF, ST.Thangboi Kipgen also took part in the talks along with their respective delegates.
The delegates of KNO are PS. Haokip, President; David  Hangshing, Vice President; Dr. Seilen Haokip, Negotiator; Tongpu Haokip, Secretary Home; TS Haokip, Secretary Defense and L. Jacob Khongsai and Lutginlal Manlun, JMG member.
The delegates of UPF includes its Chairman ST. Thangboi Kipgen; Spokesperson Aaron Kipgen; Calvin H, President ZRA/ZRO; Jacob Haokip, UKLF; Henkholal Doungel, KRF; David Chongloi, KRA(U), Sanga Hmar, HPC(D), Thanglianpau, ZRO and few others.
Earlier, after every talks the two conglomerate organizations of the Kuki UGs, the KNO and the UPF had jointly issued a press communique but this time no such press communique was issued.

However, source said that, ‘Substantive Talks’ has started to resolve the age old Kuki Political issues sooner than later.
It also said that, the Charter of Demands submitted by the KNO and UPF were minutely discussed during the talks.
Significantly, the source further said that, boundary issue will be discussed in the next round of talks which will be convened very soon.
Mentioned may be made that, a draft outline of the Political demand for formation of ‘Territorial Council’ was tabled during the 6th round of talks held last year on January 10 which was signed by KNO Negotiator Dr. Seilen Haokip and UPF Spokesperson Aaron Kipgen.
It is also worth mentioning that, the Kuki students in Manipur considered the KNO and UPF as the Kuki Political emissaries and held support rally yesterday at Kangpokpi District to show their support and solidarity to the KNO and UPF during the 7th Round of Talks today.
