Tripura Likely to Implement 7th Pay Commission

Terming the recommendations of pay and pension review committee as ‘nice’, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has directed the state Finance Minister Bhanu Lal Saha to scrutinize the recommendation properly.

Speaking to the media, Finance Minister Saha, said, “Chief Minister has termed the report as ‘very nice’. Further the council of ministers has thanked the three-member panel for making such a report within a limited period.”

The committee headed by GK Rao, has submitted the report on May 31, post conducting two-month exercise.

“The Chief Minister requested me to scrutinize the recommendations of the committee and it shall be implemented very soon”, he informed.

However, he did not spell out any time.

Saha also stated that cabinet has also decided to provide Rs 5 lakh to the bereaved family of Amal Sarkar (47) of Santir Bazar, a SSB Inspector who was martyred during an encounter with NDFB at Manas Reserve Forest in Assam.

“Request will be sent to the authority of SSB to provide a job to the bereaved family,” he said.
