Minister of Agriculture and Co-operation, G. Kaito Aye graced the second day of Tsüngremmung Mini Hornbill Festival Mokokchung 2019 as a special guest at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on Friday.

In his speech, Kaito said Mini Hornbill festival is being held in every district of the state as an initiative of the state government to document, promote and preserve Naga tradition and culture.
He also emphasized on the importance of preserving and carrying forward the rich tradition and culture as it defines the unique Naga identity. Kaito also said that the culture and traditions of the Nagas have been observed by the world as one Naga society and not as different tribes dwelling in different districts.
On the Indo Naga political issue, he said “we are probably closer than ever to the long due solution”, for which he called upon the people exhibit the sense of unity and collective responsibility. He further called upon all to work together by rising above individualism, clanism and tribalism. Kaito also called upon the Ao community, who were known as pioneers- to take the lead in bringing unity in the Naga society.
Tsüngremmung greeting was delivered by minister Rural Development, Metsubo Jamir.
Earlier, the traditional pulling of the vine was held, where citizens of Longsa under the banner Mokokchung Town Longsa Senso Telongjem took the initiative.
Special guest and other dignitaries too joined in the pulling of the vine from Town Square to the venue.
Highlights of the celebration included presentations of cultural dances by Chang Hoho (CKS), Lotha Hoho and from Assam.
