In a major attempt of boost to the growing entrepreneurs related to agriculture and its allied sector by the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, a two months training cum hands-on internship programme and Agripreneurship Orientation Programme (AOP) under Rashriya Krishi Vikas Jojana (RKVY) was launched by Dr. Ms. Kinny Singh, Dy. Commissioner, East Siang District on Monday at the College of Horticulture & Forestry, Pasighat in the presence of Prof. BN Hazarika, Dean, CHF, Pasighat.

While lighting the lamp for inauguration of the programme, DC Pasighat, Singh appreciated the good initiative of the CHF, Pasighat which is organizing the said programme with a strong determination. She said that, the genuine and bonafide hard working youths preferring entrepreneurship should be given the chance after proper scrutiny of the documents and skills. Dr. BN Hazarika, Dean, CHF, Pasighat in his keynote address outlined the basic financial assistance to be given to the selected 10 agripreneurs after final scrutiny who in turn would create employment opportunities after getting government assistances.

Meanwhile, CEO of the programme, Dr. KS Mailappa and Business Manager, Ms Nina Lego and others spoke about the importance of the programme and its two months long training in which each startup incubatee will get stipend of Rs. 10, 000/- during the training. Dr. Mailappa said that, initially Rs. 5,000,00/- would be given to the selected in the first round, but the same agripreneur can apply for second stage where he/she would get an additional fund assistance of Rs. 20,000,00/- making the total amount to Rs. 25,000,00/-.

Speaking about the training, 23 years old young agripreneur Ms Yana Bagang, an Agri graduate from this CHF, Pasighat who originally hails from Itanagar, said that, she is really interested in succeeding the programme for which she is said to have given up pursuing Master degree course.
