The Indian Army recently organised a veterinary camp in coordination with the civil administration for the local residents of Muguthang in North Sikkim.

The camp was set up at a height of 15,000 feet for the benefit of yak graziers who live there with their livestock.

About 27 yak graziers along with their 100 animals, attended the camp, which was aimed at providing support to the locals to prevent the loss they had suffered last year due to the severe winter that claimed their livestock.

Apart from Army officials, the team also comprised nine civilians, including one veterinarian from the Sikkim Animal Husbandry Department.

The team provided treatment to the livestock along with medicines, nutritional supplements and yak feed.
