KL Rahul continued his good run in the ongoing 50 over domestic tournament with strock-filled 90 in the quarterfinals as he helped his team win against Puducherry. Batting first, Pudducherry scored 207 for the loss of 9 wickets. The target of 208 proved too little for Karnataka as KL Rahul led team chased it with 8 wickets to spare.

Vikneshwaran MM Marimuthu top scored for Puducherry with 58 and helped the team come out of a tricky situation which they faced at a point when the Karnataka bowlers had reduced them to 41 for 6. Sagar Trivedi too contributed a vital 54 to carry his team to a respectable total.

The bowlers of Karnataka were led by Pravin Dubey (3-44), Vasuki Koushik (2-33) and Abhimanyu Mithun (2-35). Puducherry were put into bat after Karnataka had won the toss. The trio kept striking at regular intervals and reduced the puducherry team to a total which was never going to prove enough considering the batting line up of opponents.

The chase felt like an easy job with KL Rahul adding 98 for the opening stand with his partner Devdutt Padikkal, who scored 50.

In his innings, KL Rahul faced 112 balls and hit 8 fours and a six. Karnataka have now raced to the semis.

In another game, Gujarat defeated Delhi riding on the half centuries of Priyank Panchal and Parthiv Patel, who scored 80 and 76 respectively. Delhi scored just 223 with skipper Dhruv Shorey top scoring with 91. Shikhar Dhawan, the most experienced in Delhi’s ranks, feel for a zero. The Indian opener in limited over cricket has had a forgettable outing in the Vijay Hazare trophy this year and he will look to regain his form ASAP. However, with Delhi being ruled out from the tournament, he will have to wait for another tournament before he can get some match practice.

KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan will be in action for their respective franchises in the upcoming IPL 2020. If you follow IPL and are interested in learning more on IPL betting, you should check out IPL betting sites in India.
