Leaders of the central committee of Young Mizo Association (YMA) on Thursday called on Mizoram Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai and sought his help to tackle drug menace and illegal infiltration from Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, the Governor congratulated the YMA on the successes it has achieved in carrying out social reforms. On the Governor’s request, the YMA leaders informed the Governor about the YMA’s role in the Mizo society, its works to preserve Mizo culture, tradition and social ethics.

The YMA leaders sought the Governor’s help in the fight against the drug menace in the State. They also raised concern over infiltration of migrants from Bangladesh into the Chakma Autonomous District Council in south Mizoram.

They also apprised the Governor of the need to raise a Mizo battalion of the CRPF to guard the borders as promised by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
