Assam Police Apprehend Two Peddlers & Seize 101 Grams Of Brown Sugar

Guwahati, August 01, 2023: Two drug peddlers were apprehended by the Assam Police on Monday. The individuals in custody have been identified as Sharungbeg Prem Kumar Singh, aged 35, and Faridul Hasan, aged 22.

The successful operation was initiated based on confidential information, as stated by Guwahati Police Commissioner Diganta Bora. Acting on this tip-off, the police team conducted a thorough search, resulting in the discovery of nine packets suspected to contain brown sugar, weighing a total of 101 grams. These illicit substances were promptly seized following the standard protocol.

Additionally, as part of the investigation, four mobile phones and a car were confiscated to aid in gathering further evidence. The case remains under active investigation as the authorities seek to uncover any possible links or networks associated with the accused drug peddlers.

The commendable effort was carried out by a team from the Central Police District led by ADCP Central. Their focused search operation took place in the Rupnagar area under Paltan Bazar Police Station, Guwahati, leading to the successful apprehension of the two drug peddlers. The police are determined to curb drug trafficking in the region and will continue their efforts to maintain law and order.
