The senior Congress leader – Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Monday urged the Union Minister of Home Affairs & Cooperation – Amit Shah to address Nagaland issue through the implementation of two agreements inked between the Centre & Naga militants.

In a letter to the Union Minister, Chowdhury highlighted about two official agreements reached between the Central administration & Naga militants, including the Framework Agreement signed at the PM’s residence on August 3, 2015 between the former interlocutor – RN Ravi, and the NSCN (IM) General Secretary – Th Muivah.

Similarly, the Agreed Points was signed on November 17, 2017 between Ravi & the Working Committee of 6 factions of the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs).

He went on to say that the Governor and Interlocutor had stated in his presentation to the Nagaland State Assembly in February 2021 that the talks on the topic had come to an end.

Rather of applauding agreement fulfilment, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio submitted a motion seeking a return of discussions after the Assembly approved a vote of gratitude for the address; Chowdhury remarked.
